Experience East Kootenay wilderness at its best! Enjoy hourly trips riding through rugged terrain, rushing streams, and peaceful fields learning of the wildlife and nature in the Canadian Rockies.

All trips take place in the watershed of the Elk River. This area boasts most of the large game animals of North America. Some of the world’s biggest Rocky Mountain sheep utilizes the area, as do large populations of elk, deer, moose and bear (black and grizzly). The rivers, lakes, and streams contain cutthroat trout, bull trout, and whitefish. Horse trips are tailed to the level of experience each rider can endure comfortably!

A variety of horseback riding packages are available ranging from single day excursions to multi-day packages. Day trips include lunch and the necessary equipment will be assigned when needed. Customized trips can be arranged to suit any group, up to 6 people - just call and ask us.

Durations of trail riding ranges from 1 hour up to ½ day to full day excursions. Depending on how long you would be interested in riding, varies in the different terrain. Half day (4 hours) to full day (8 hours) is either in the Hosmer area and/or the Wardner Area. 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour trips includes Fernie Alpine Resort and/or Wardner Area.

For a ½ day trek in the Hosmer wilderness, you will have the chance to visit an eagle’s nest, and then climb for a great view of Hosmer Mountain and the Elk Valley. For the full day excursion, based upon level of ability, there are two journey packages: one adventure climbs through the Strongs Canyon, from 3500 feet to 8200 feet, located in the alpine areas middle of the Canadian Rockies. The other adventure roams around Barnes Lake; a beautiful alpine-lake with great fishing for small cutthroat trout.
